Armstrong, Barbara, 97, Johnstown, passed away Dec. 22, 2014 at Brethren Home. Born April 13, 1917 in Harrisonburg, Virginia, daughter of the late Irvin and Florence (Lemley) McNeill. Preceded in death by husband Frederick Armstrong, five brothers, and one sister. Survived by son Neill and wife Sydney Armstrong, Johnstown; nephews, Douglas and Dr. Donald McNeill, both of Virginia; and a number of great nieces and nephews. Barbara was a member of the Emmanuel Episcopal Church in Harrisonburg and held several different jobs throughout her lifetime. Some of her hobbies included reading, cooking, and entertaining family and friends. A private memorial service will be held in January. Barbara will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
