Lorditch, Barbara Ilene, 76, Johnstown, went to be with our Lord Aug. 29, 2016. Born June 2, 1940, in Johnstown, daughter of Frank F. and Marjorie V. (Chappell) Yoder. Preceded in death by her parents; husband, Charles Richard (Dick) Lorditch; and brothers, Frank F. Yoder Jr. and David Harry Yoder.  Survived by son, Lewis L. Lorditch, Johnstown; daughter, Marjorie L., wife of S. Jay Mychajlonka, South Fork; grandchildren: Lennaya Lee Lorditch Janega, Minneapolis, MN.; Joshua Jay Mychajlonka, South Fork; and Dr. Christan Marie Mychajlonka, Phoenix, Arizona; sister, Kathaleen, wife of Richard E. Williams, Sun City, AZ; brother Ralph E. Yoder, Johnstown; sister-in-law, Margaret (Buffy) Yoder, Penn Run; and numerous nieces and nephews. Barb had several different jobs during her life. The one she really enjoyed was being a caregiver for the elderly. A sharing and giving person, she helped make their lives easier in their old age. She also volunteered at the Wives Action Committee Food Pantry. During the 1977 Flood, Barb lived in the hard hit Tanneryville section of town; but was lucky enough to live on high ground. She and her husband were there to support friends, neighbors, and strangers in any way possible. Barb’s family and friends were everything to her and they could always depend on her being there for them. She loved to talk and laugh about the “old days”, to share a meal, a cup of tea or a dessert. She also enjoyed crocheting, reading, doing crossword puzzles, and watching television. She loved game shows, documentaries on the History Channel, and the Pittsburgh Steelers football games. A devout Christian, Barbara was a member of the Garfield Street United Methodist Church, which she has attended since childhood. She was involved in many aspects of the church and held various positions and offices. One church project very special to her was crocheting prayer shawls for people in need of comfort. At Barb’s request there will be no viewing or service. In lieu of flowers, please contribute in Barb’s memory to the Garfield Street United Methodist Church, 180 Garfield St., Johnstown, PA, 15906. Arrangements in care of Hindman Funeral Homes & Crematory, Inc., 146 Chandler Ave., “Exclusive Provider of Veterans & Family Memorial Care.” Condolences may be made at HindmanFuneralHomes.com
