Shaffer, Baron E., 73, Johnstown, formerly of Latrobe, passed away unexpectedly April 25, 2020. Born March 1, 1947 to the late Henry B. and Margaret (Kirchner) Shaffer. Preceded in death by brother, Barry Wayne Shaffer; and mother in law, Florence Hess. Survived by loving wife of 50 years, Lucinda (Hess); daughters, Melissa Rok (Michael); Christine Garmon; grandchildren, Michael, Jordon, Kevin, Alexis, and Brooke; brother, William Shaffer (Maryann); brothers and sisters in law, Roberta Shaffer; Debbie and Dave Molchan; Susan Stiffler; Wesley Hess; Brent Hess (fiancé Alicia Miller); father in law, Harold Hess; and numerous nieces, nephews, and friends. Baron was an active member of Summit Chapel United Methodist Church and a veteran of the U.S. Navy. He loved going to flea markets with Dave and Debbie, vacations, and going to fires. He had an interest in coins, old cars, and enjoyed hunting. Services will be held privately.
