Betsy Lynn Finney passed from this life into eternal rest with her Lord and Savior on January 27th, 2017. She was preceded in death by her father and mother, the Reverend David N. Finney Jr. & Betty Lou Finney.  She is survived by her brothers David Finney and wife Michelle of Johnstown, PA, Ted Finney and wife Carrie of Amherst, VA and her sister Nancy Finney Legath and husband John of Downingtown, PA.  She is also survived by niece Alicia Campbell (Jason) and nephews Ryan Finney, Eric Finney (Beka), Dan Frantz & Elliott Finney. Betsy was born in Pittsburgh on November 11th, 1956.  She moved to Johnstown at the age of 7 and remained there throughout her life.  Betsy attended the Johnstown Vocational Technical School as a teenager and eventually went on to employment with a number of local businesses. Betsy’s dogs were her first love, as she adopted Patches, Boots & Cody from local shelters.  They gave her love & loyalty, and she cared for each of them right up until their last days. Betsy was also the family genealogist.  She researched our family tree, and enjoyed creating gravestone rubbings of our ancestors laid to rest in Clarion County. Throughout her life, wherever her mother Betty Lou was, Betsy was there also… attending church or girl scouts, antiquing in Ligonier and visiting relatives in Pittsburgh.  They shared a common birthday of November 11th & they passed away within one-year of each other.Betsy was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Hornerstown for 53-years.  As an expression of sympathy, please consider memorial donations to Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church, 600 Ash St, Johnstown, PA 15902. O Lord, support us all the day long of this troubled life, until the shadows lengthen and the evening comes and the busy world is hushed, the fever of life is over, and our work is done.  Then, in your mercy, grant us a safe lodging, and a holy rest, and peace at the last. A private memorial service will be held for the family at a future date.
