Vuckovich, Betty Bosiljka, Johnstown, fell asleep in the Lord on Oct. 26, 2014, at LaurelWood Care Center. Born Sept. 19, 1931, in Conemaugh, daughter of Lazo and Damjena (Buchan) Gjurich. Preceded in death by parents; uncle, Jovan Gjurich; husband, Lazo Vuckovich; sisters, Dorothy Gvozdich, Helen Saula, Zora Locher, Ljubica, Mila and Maryann; brothers, Milan, Peter, Dusan and Blaine; sisters-in-law, Betty Gjurich and Lee Gjurich; and brothers-in-law, Milan Gvozdich and Thomas Locher. Survived by beloved children, Dianne (Daniel) Tomak, Karyn (Thomas) Waligora, Peter (Anna) Vuckovich, Melanie (Dr. William) Schall and Maryann (Brian) Sullivan; grandchildren, Daniel Tomak, Damian Tomak, T.P. (Meredith) Waligora, Helene (Jonathan) Gleason, Lazo (Kathryn) Vuckovich, Peter Vuckovich, Damian (Tara) Vuckovich, Nicholas Schall, Peter Schall, Drew Sullivan and Michael Sullivan; great-grandchildren, Jakob and Grace Vuckovich and Jonathan and Meara Gleason; brother, Sylvester Gjurich; sister-in-law, Vickie Gjurich; brother-in-law, Milan Saula; and a host of wonderful nieces and nephews. A loyal Steelers and Pirates fan, “Bosa” also was a member of the St. Nicholas Circle of Serbian Sisters, St. Nicholas Serbian Orthodox Church and the Serb National Federation. She devoted her life to her family and church. Her many gifts were shared generously, including her famous nutroll and baked goods. We especially appreciated her ability to lift our spirits with her wit and sense of humor. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, Oct. 31, at Hindman Funeral Home & Crematory Inc., 146 Chandler Ave., Johnstown, where Pomen will be sung at 7 p.m. The funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 1, at St. Nicholas Serbian Orthodox Church, St. Clair Road, the Rev. Dragan Zarac serving.
