Shaw, Betty Jane (Fisher) – 78, Dysart, went to be with the Lord on October 1, 2018 while surrounded by her family. Born August 23, 1940 in Gray, Pennsylvania. Preceded in death by her grandparents George and Margaret Fisher, of Sipesville; her first husband David Shaw; granddaughters Rebecca Lynn and Sara Jane Shaw; and a great grandson. Survived by her companion of 40 years, Patrick McConnell, Dysart; her son, Eric V. Shaw (Linda), Patton; daughters, Melissa Coover (Robert), Hastings; Christine Duman (Michael), Hastings; Margaret Smolko, Northern Cambria; her grandchildren, Malynda Reimer, Amanda Shaw, David Shaw, Nicolas Coover, Charles Shaw, Ashley Amis, April Shaw, Eric Shaw Jr., Catherine Duman, Michael Bubenko, Ethan Duman, Elizabeth Duman, Peter Duman, Autumn Duman; 9 great grandchildren.  Betty raised four children on her own, while working at Laurel Crest Manor as a nurse’s aide, she retired after 20 years of service. She was an active member of the Patton Presbyterian Church, and also the Patton VFW Ladies Auxiliary. She enjoyed going out to eat with her friends and family, playing Bingo, doing puzzles, coloring, traveling, and crocheting.  A memorial service will be held for Betty at Patton Presbyterian Church, 509 Magee Ave, Patton, PA 16668 on Friday October 5, 2018 at 11 AM.
