Penrod, Bonnie Lee, 87, Johnstown, passed away October 2, 2023, at Conemaugh Memorial Medical Center. Born February 5, 1936, to the late Carl and Esther (Stine) Gramling. Preceded in death by daughter, Brenda Rose Penrod Nugent. Survived by husband, Edward Penrod; children, Susan Constable; Gail Penrod (William Sheets); Jeffrey Penrod (Susan Hayes-Penrod); Harold Penrod (Loretta Senterfitt); 14 grandchildren; 40 great grandchildren; 2 great great grandchildren; siblings, Thomas Gramling; Sylivia Sabo; William Gramling; Rodney Gramling; and numerous nieces and nephews. Bonnie was always a kid at heart, she was fun, outgoing and involved in everything, especially if it included mischief. Bonnie adored her grandchildren, especially if she was able to sit and rock them to sleep as babies, as they grew, she loved to listen to the stories from the exhausted parents of their latest hi-jinks, grandchildren were indeed a tremendous joy to her. Bonnie loved going to Busch Gardens and spending the day riding the train around the park and watching the shows, over the years she attended Peter Noone’s (Hermans Hermits) concerts of 6 or 7 times; his music never seemed to get old. Bonnie was adventurous and would ride the roller coasters when others were faint of heart. She loved spending time with her family and being everybody’s “Mom”. Bonnie loved to cook and was always feeding everybody; it was known by all that she made the best potato salad. Bonnie especially enjoyed reminiscing with family and friends about their good times. She will be deeply missed by all who loved and knew her. A Celebration of Life service will be held Saturday October 7th at the Bethany Presbyterian Church, 228 Blaine Street, Johnstown, PA 15906.
