Obituary

Sutton, Carla A., 63, Johnstown, passed away peacefully at her home on July 1, 2015. Originally from the Hastings area, she was born in Spangler on September 5, 1951 and graduated from Cambria Heights in 1969. Survived by mother, Anna Mary Quist; siblings, Wayne & Charlene, Kathy & John, Barb & Denny, Joe & Robin, Ted, Janice & Kevin, Mary & Izzy, and Melissa & Eric. She will also be sadly missed by her children Scott & Wendi, Heather, Laura & Anthony, Ben & Heather; grandchildren Joe, Molly, Deshon, Shanee, Elijah, Zhanea, Emily, Aubrey, Isiah and Lila; godson, Alex; and many beloved nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. Carla worked in the Johnstown area as a cosmetology school instructor, salon manager, and stylist for over forty years. She truly enjoyed her work and loved to see the smiles on the faces of her loyal customers. She also was fond of playing in local pool leagues with all of her teammates and wonderful friends. Carla cherished her role as a Mom and nothing was more important to her than being with her family and spending time together. She loved to teach all of her grandchildren new card games and how to solve puzzles. Other passions she treasured were fishing and watching Jeopardy. Everyone knew not to call during Jeopardy! A memorial service will be held at 2:30 p.m. July 5th at 588 Grata Road in Ebensburg for family and friends. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Carla’s name to the American Cancer Society.
