DaBella, Charles J. Sr. “Hippy”, 74, Hastings, passed away Saturday January 7, 2017, at Miners Medical Center. Born November 26, 1942, in Spangler; He was a son of the late Samuel and Anna Marie (Sposito) DaBella. He was preceded in death by his parents, and his brother Ron DaBella. He is survived by his children Annette Patterson, Illinois; Charles J. DaBella Jr. (Marie), Hastings; Charlene DaBella-Delozier, Illinois; his grandchildren Chad, David, Daniel, Kayla, Austin, Travis, Kara and Anthony; five great-grandchildren; his siblings, Dorothy Fleming (Jim), Spangler; Paul DaBella (Nancy), Clymer; Carol Lowe (Larry), Spangler; and numerous nieces and nephews. Charles was a loving father and grandfather. Charles retired from Bethlehem Mines where he worked as a coal miner. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends and the puppy Shotzy, playing cards, gambling, riding his motorcycle, he was a member of the American Legion and VFW in both Spangler and Barnesboro. Friends and family will be received Wednesday, January 11, 2017 from 2 p.m. to 4p.m. and 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Easly-Hindman Funeral Home, 333 Beaver St., Hastings. A funeral service will follow the visitation at 8 p.m. at the funeral home. Lay Pastor James Whited officiating.
