Cordell, Charles R., 92, Patton, passed away December 30, 2017 at Haida Manor. Charles was born November  2, 1925 in Patton, PA.  He was a son of the late Charles and Mary (Link) Cordell.  Preceded in death by his parents; his wife Laverna (Hoover) Cordell; his daughter, Karen Cordell; his siblings, Alberta Cordell, Ralph Cordell, Awilda Easly, and Veralda Cordell; his son-in-law Michael Stofko .  Survived by his children, Linda Stofko, Munhall, PA; Kenneth Cordell and his wife Jan, Allison Park, PA; Kevin Cordell and his wife Carol, Westminster, MD; Sandra Lantzy and her husband Joel, Patton, PA; Denise Hart and her husband Richard, York, PA;  James Cordell and his wife Esther, State College, PA; Daniel Cordell and his wife Kari, Jarrettsville, MD; and Bryan Cordell and his wife Letitia, Patton, PA;  his grandchildren, Jen, Sean, Breana, Jason, Briana, Ben, Chris, Todd, Lea, Kyle, Brittany, Becky, Gina, Jacob, Steven, Zachary, David, Luke, Kara, and Ellen; 16 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. Charles served our country in the Army during World War II; he was assigned to the Armored Field Artillery Battalion.  He was the sole proprietor of Cordell’s Hardware store in Patton. He was a member of the Patton VFW. And the Patton American Legion, he enjoyed spending quality time with his family and friends, and was a devout Catholic. At the request of the deceased there will be no visitation. A Memorial Mass will be held on January 13, 2018 at 12 p.m. at Queen of Peace Catholic Church, 907 6th Avenue, Patton, PA 16668. Rev. Ananias Buccicone O.S.B., officiating. Interment will be at Queen of Peace Cemetery at the convenience of the family.
