Obituary
Noon, Clarence E. “Tom”, 98, Salix, passed away at home February 14, 2024. Born July 29, 1925 to the late Sanford and Esther (Miller) Noon. Preceded in death by infant daughter, Kimberly Sharon; beloved wife, Evelyn (Nemeth) Noon; brother, Harry “Slim” Noon; and sisters, Carrie “Sis” Meier, and Betty “Ruth” Custer. Survived by Son, Douglas Noon (Violet); daughter, Donna Rios (Tony); grandchildren, Michael Noon (Amee) of Long Island, NY, Christian Rios (Megan) of Bloomsburg, PA, Regina Rios, and Stephanie Rios; great grandchildren, Gabriel, Ari, Maisy, and Evelyn. As a young man, along with his brother, Tom worked at his father’s sawmill cutting mine props for local mines. He served in the Marines at the age of 18, where he was involved in Operation Archipelago in the Philippines with the Marine Aircraft Group 24 (MAG24). He was a lifelong bricklayer and retired as BAC Local 4’s Business Agent. His skill in bricklaying and building can be seen throughout his farmstead. Together with his son, they built Doug’s home. He had a remarkable work ethic and would always be up early and doing farm work or whatever needed done. He enjoyed raising beef cattle on his farm. His pastimes included fishing and hunting whitetails, turkey and ringneck pheasants with his friends. Pappy (also affectionately known as Good-do) dearly loved his grandkids and great-grandbabies. He will be deeply missed by his family and friends. Per Tom’s request there will be no viewing or services. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to Salix Bethel Church for missions.
