Shaw, Donald E. Jr. 49, went to be with the Lord November 1, 2022. Born December 17, 1972, to Donald E. and Barbara (Coolbaugh) Shaw. Preceded in death by son Donald E. Shaw III. Survived by daughters, Eleana (Benjamin) Hanelly, and Sierra Rodgers; brother Eric Shaw; special cousin John Shaffer Jr. and numerous aunts and uncles and cousins. Donald worked in the construction industry for many years. Donald graduated from Richland High School and received a rare and prestigious merit award from the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania for his SAT score. He then attended Mount Aloysius and graduated with an Associate’s Degree with high honors, magna cum laude. He also attended Penn State University, where he was the recipient of the David Hyatt Snyder Memorial award from Penn State Fayette campus, he also was inducted into the Pi Sigma Phi Honorary Society. Donald loved being outdoors; hunting, fishing, hiking, and kayaking. He was considered by many as a best friend and a very loyal friend. Donald never missed an opportunity to share his love for Jesus as demonstrated by an exert from one of his writings “faith starts out small and grows with experiences in life where you see that God’s word is true. When you put your entire trust in Him… and His promises .. He will never let you down … He is the light and there is no darkness or lying in Him. God always keeps His promises. Thankfully He blessed us based on who He is.. the loving Creator and God Almighty! It’s not based on our performance or ability to keep perfect faith.. once we’re called and saved by Him.. He carries us with his Almighty strength..” Donald is going to be sadly missed by his family and friends.  Family and friends will be received Monday from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. and Tuesday 11 a.m to 12 p.m, at Hindman Funeral Homes & Crematory Inc., 1521 Frankstown Rd., Johnstown, PA 15902.  A funeral service will be held Tuesday at 12 p.m. at the funeral home, Pastor William Trentini officiating.  Interment to follow at Richland Cemetery in Johnstown.
