Sheldon, Donald E., 81, Conemaugh, passed away August 25, 2018 at Memorial Medical Center with his family by his side. Born February 25, 1937, in Johnstown, son of the late John and Melba (Strick) Sheldon. Preceded in death by wife, Beverly, and five siblings. Survived by children, Kimberly married to David Cobaugh, Indiana, PA; Donald Sheldon II, Lawrenceville, GA; siblings, David Sheldon married to Joan; Robert Sheldon married to Patricia; Carol Lutz; Sharon married to David McCallay; grandchildren, Nathaniel married to Heather; Kyle married to Brittany Cobaugh, Indiana, PA; Donald Sheldon III, Johnstown; Virginia married to David Stevens, Conemaugh; Nicole Sheldon, Lawrenceville, GA; great grandchildren, Christian and Dillon Stevens; Asher, Averial, Hayden Cobaugh; Isabella Garcia; Gabriella Burk; Riley, Gabriel and Coleson Cobaugh; Tyler Sheldon; and numerous nieces and nephews. Donald was a member of Conemaugh First United Methodist Church. He was a crane operator for Bethlehem Steel in Parkhill, PA. Don was an avid sportsman who enjoyed hunting, fishing and archery, as well as bowling and horseshoes. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends and loved going for a ride in the country and having a banana split. A special thank you to the loving and caring staff of The Atrium, where Don resided for the past three years. Thank you to Conemaugh Memorial Medical staff of 8 Rose and the Palliative Care Unit for your outstanding nursing care. A memorial service will be held Wednesday August 29th at 11:30 a.m. at Conemaugh United Methodist Church, 414 First Street Conemaugh, PA. Pastor Marjorie Kiefer, officiating.  A luncheon will be provided immediately following the service at the church. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Don’s memory to The Atrium, 216 Main St., Johnstown, PA 15901.
