Mishler, Donald G., 85, of the West End, formerly of Moxham, died Aug. 8, 2015. Son of Chester L. and Agnes (Duman) Mishler. Preceded in death by parents; wife, Shirley (Hill) Mishler; and brother, Edward L. Survived by brother, Robert C. of Clearfield. Donald was the past exalted ruler of #175 Elks Lodge in 1986-87, former president of the Walnut Grove Hunting and Fishing Club, former recording secretary of the Retired Men’s Club and a member of the Senior Activities Center. He was a much better than average all-around athlete and coach. He played many years in the Johnstown Senior Basketball League, Senior Fast Pitch Softball League, City Senior Football League for Moxham A.C., the Senior Baseball League, and bowled in several Duckpin and Tenpin Leagues. In the later years, he turned to golf and shot pool in the Johnstown Pool League for the Iron Horse Hotel. He coached basketball and football at St. Patrick Grade School, where they won many championships in the 1950’s and set basketball records that still stand today. Donald retired from Bethlehem Steel Co. in 1983 with 34 yrs. of service, where he worked in several departments over the years but retired from the Franklin Mills. Finally, those whom omitted him in life are intentionally omitted from this obituary at Donald’s request. Also at Donald’s request, there will be no viewing.
