Eash, Donald R., 87, Johnstown, died Sept. 15, 2016 at the Allegheny Lutheran Home. Born June 12, 1929 in Tire Hill, PA to the late Alvin and Susan (Blough) Eash. Preceded in death by wife, Alice E. (Marker) Eash; and sisters, Twila (Eash) Croyle and Catherine. Survived by daughters, Barby L. Soto; Susan Laino, (Joseph); granddaughters, Crystal Gallo; Robyn Laino; Dawn Thompson, (Randy); great grandchildren, Adrianne, Desiree, Devon, Chandra, Alexandria, Isaiah, Maddox, Braxton, Samantha, and Mason; son-in-law and close friend, James Soto; close friend, Marsha Sturtz; and numerous nieces and nephews. When Don was younger he juggled two jobs, working part time for McIlwain School Bus Company and full time for Harris-Boyer, then later retired from Harris-Boyer upon closure of the business in 1979. Don went to work full time driving bus for the Transit Authority and officially retired in the late 90’s. After retiring from the Transit Authority Don went to help a friend and drove bus for Mlaker School Bus Company for several years. He was well liked driver and was admired by all people young and old. Don was an avid fisherman. When he wasn’t fishing he was hunting. Don was a member of the Ferndale Hunting and Fishing Club. Don and his beloved late wife were close and enjoyed spending time together camping and sitting on the porch of their home watching the wild life. He also enjoyed having a cup of coffee and shooting the breeze at Massimo’s, a local corner store, with his buddies every Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday. He was a member of the 3rd Brethren Church.  A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday Sept. 23 at the 3rd Brethren Church, 184 Spring St, Johnstown, PA 15906. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to American Cancer Society.
