Hildebrand, Donald S. (Hildy), 85, went to be with his lord and savior from home on June 25, 2021. Born July 27, 1935, son of the late Chester J. and Olive G (Howard) Hildebrand. Preceded in death by twin brother Ronald, brothers; Raymond, Roy, Forest (Clair) and Chester; sisters, Dora Custer and Blanch Rolish Shiley. Donald was the last surviving member of his family.

Survived by his loving and devoted wife of 66 years Anna C (Rummell) Hildebrand, children; Brenda Haupt (Charles), Donald Hildebrand (Janet Drzal) and Robert Hildebrand (Nina DeSalvo); Grandchildren, Mathew and Anthony Haupt, Lynnette Shuster, Brianna Lehman, Ashley, Michelle and Christina Hildebrand, Cortney Selepack, Allison Blackwell, Brenton Hildebrand and 19 Great Grandchildren.

Donald was an avid outdoorsman: he enjoyed hunting, fishing, and cutting the grass. He was a Deacon of the Ebensburg Evangelical Church and drove the church bus picking up children for Sunday school. He had a contagious smile, and always found the good in everyone. He served in the US Navy for 4 ½ years as a signalman during the Korean war. He was retired from Bethlehem steel after 38 years of service as a crane operator.

Family and friends will be received Friday July 2nd from 2-4 p.m. at Hindman Funeral Homes & Crematory, Inc., 1521 Frankstown Rd., where a service will be held at 4 pm. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Leukemia Society.
