Obituary

Meckley, Donald W., 93, Westover, passed away November 17, 2014 at home. Born June 2, 1921 in La Jose; son of the late Henderson J. and Bessie (Johnston) Meckley. Preceded in death by his first wife Marinthia (Kitchen), his second wife Evelyn (Diehl), his foster daughter Joan Bishop-Meckley, a great-grandchild, his siblings Ralph, Kathleen, and Samuel. He is survived by his children; son, Donald and his wife, Melody, Altoona; son, Timothy, and his wife, Carol, Cherry Tree; son, Patrick, and his wife,Laura, Dwight, IL; son, Robin, and his wife, Lisa, Dwight, IL; and step-son, Guy Kitchen, and his wife, Robin, La Jose.  Donald is also survived by 18 grandchildren, 36 great grandchildren, with another one on the way,  numerous nieces and nephews and his very best friend Vada Spagle.  Donald worked for Westover Tannery.  He worked with the youth of his church for many years, loved woodworking, farming, and was a very proud grandfather.  Friends and Family will be received from 2-4 p.m. & 6-8 p.m. on Thursday, November 20th at Easly-Hindman Funeral Home, 333 Beaver Street, Hastings, PA 16646 where funeral service will be held on Friday, November 21st at 11 a.m., Pastor Donald D. Meckley, officiating.
