Emerick, Dorothy, 81,  longtime resident of Hastings, PA, died on November 19, 2017 at the Hearthside Rehabilitation and Nursing Center in State College. She was born at her home in Barnesboro, PA on July 30, 1936 to Anton and Anna (Witovich) Zrioka.  She is preceded in death by her parents; brothers Joseph, John, Tom, Pete and Steve; sisters Helen (Archik), Sadie (Kost), Kathryn (Kay Younkin), Anne (Honey Kaschak), her grandson, Jared McMullen and brother-in-law, James Emerick. Dorothy is survived by her husband of 61 years, John (Jack) G. Emerick; her children Michele Lutz of State College, PA; Barbara (John) Fox of Washington Court House, OH; Ruth (Craig) McMullen of State College, PA; John (Shelley) Emerick of Summerfield, NC; and Lisa Keesee of Roanoke, VA; her grandchildren, Steven, Timothy, & Michael Lutz;  Brian(Chelsea), Alex & Todd Fox;  Daniel(Father Canice McMullen, OSB), Sara, & Marc McMullen;  Jack, Elyssa, & Sam Emerick;  Nicole and Megan Keesee; great-grandchild, Nora Fox; brother Bill Zrioka and sister Barbara (Jeannie) Wargo, sister-in-law Patricia (Dan) Kelly, and numerous Emerick, Zrioka, Kaschak, Kelly, Wargo, and Archik nieces and nephews. Dorothy was a graduate of Barnesboro High School.  She married Jack on July 7, 1956 at St. Benedict Church in Carrolltown, PA. Dorothy lived her life as a supportive wife, mother and caretaker for her elderly mother. Dorothy was an active member of Saint Bernard Catholic Church in Hastings where she also sang in the folk choir for many years. Dorothy was an avid golfer at Cambrian Hills Country Club.  Her love of golfing took her and Jack to courses in surrounding counties, North Carolina and Florida.  Dorothy also liked daily fitness walks and socially enjoyed spending time with family and friends. Family and friends will be received at Easly-Hindman Funeral Home in Hastings on Friday November 24, 2017 from 2 pm to 4 pm and 6pm to 8 pm. Her funeral Mass will be at St. Bernard Catholic Church on Saturday, November 25, at 11 am. Mass will be con-celebrated by Father Canice Mc Mullen and Father Thaddeus Rettger, OSB. Interment will be at St. Joseph Mission Church Cemetery in West Carroll Twp., Cambria County, PA. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to St. Vincent Seminary, 300 Fraser Purchase Rd, Latrobe, PA 15650.
