Hindman Funeral Home (Frankstown)

On Saturday, August 7, 2021, Douglas Jeffreys, faithful husband and loving father, passed away at the age of 60. Born September 24,1960 in Johnstown, PA to Carlus and Jane (Miller) Jeffreys. Doug was the middle child of five (Kimberly, Randy, Scott, and Bradly). After graduating from Greater Johnstown High School, Doug took night classes to become a Draftsman and later went on to be a Surveyor for H.F. Lenz. In a change of occupation, Doug took interest in the Mental Health field and spent the rest of his years dedicated to working at Cambria Residential Services with his wife, Sharon (Axmacher) Jeffreys where he focused his compassion to taking care of the mentally ill. A man of many talents, Doug was a skilled martial artist with a 2nd degree blackbelt in Tang Soo Do, and additional training in Judo, Hapkido, Kendo, and Fencing. Throughout the years, and as often as possible, Doug enjoyed spending long nights with his close friends where they would gather to play various games together. When he wasn’t working or gaming, Doug would spend his spare time as an avid motorcyclist who would regularly volunteer for Thunder in the Valley. Douglas is preceded in death by his father, Carlus Jeffreys. Survived by loving wife and soulmate, Sharon Jeffreys; mother Jane Jeffreys; daughters, Katie Jeffreys; Jennifer Reutzel (Ted); and Sherry Ankney; and son, Duncan Jeffreys. He is remembered as a devoted and loving grandfather to Dylan and Keira (Katie); Shane and Kylie (Sherry); Sophia, Aubrey, and Lyla (Jennifer); and Dean (Duncan); and will be loved and missed by his many nieces and nephews. Family and friends will be received on August 20th from 2-4 p.m. at Hindman Funeral Homes & Crematory, Inc., 1521 Frankstown Rd.
