Obituary

Smith – Edna Mae (Orner), 71, originally of Johnstown, PA, joined our Lord on Saturday, April 28, 2018 at Bonham Nursing & Rehabilitation Center, Stillwater, PA.   Born July 7, 1946 in Johnstown, daughter of the late Harry Garfield and Gladys Rosalie (Longstreth) Orner.  Preceded in death by her loving husband, Robert H. Smith, Sr., and brothers, Harry Clyde Orner and Dean Ray Orner.  She is survived by her children, Rosalie Mae Antoniello and husband, Anthony, Benton; and Robert H. Smith, Jr., and wife, Kimberly, Benton; grandchildren, Amber Mae Stokes and Travis Antoniello, and Jenna Mae and Nicholas Smith; great-grandchildren, Layla Mae and Ryleigh Lynn Stokes; her siblings, William “Paul” Orner and wife, Patricia, Kissimmee, FL; Glenn Earl Orner and wife, Mary, Indiana, PA; Everett “Bruce” Orner and wife, Carla, Prairie Village, KS; and many nieces and nephews, and friends.  Edna was employed by and retired from the Carteret Police Department in New Jersey, where she worked as a police dispatcher for many years.  She was a member of the Blazing Stars in New Jersey.  She loved to sing and was actively involved in the choir at Bonham’s.  Memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday, May 5, at Hindman Funeral Home, 146 Chandler Ave., Johnstown.  Pastor Ruth Ann Moore officiating.  A celebration of life will follow at Grace Lutheran Church, 246 Chandler Ave., Johnstown.  Donations may be made to: Alzheimer’s Association, 1850 York Road, Suite D, Timonium, MD 21093.  Arrangements in care of Hindman Funeral Homes & Crematory, Inc. “Exclusive Provider of Veterans & Family Memorial Care.” Condolences may be made at HindmanFuneralHomes.com
