Lucas, Edward A., 80, Johnstown, passed away on March 9, 2019 at his residence. Born March 27, 1938 in Portage, son of the late Andrew and Mildred (Plummer) Lucas. Preceded in death by his parents; his brothers, Andrew Lucas and Walter Lucas. Survived by his wife, Betty (Grunza) Lucas; his children, Edward E. Lucas, Colver; Brett D. Lucas (Bonnie), Beaverdale; Carol M. Marsh (Edward), Ohio; Bridget G. Marsh (Edward), Windber; Troy Lucas (Carol), Beaverdale; Dwayne Scaife (Kay Ohler), Dunlo; Brian Scaife, Johnstown; and Sherri Hess (Wesley), Johnstown; 13 grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren; his siblings, Theodore Lucas (Cindy), Shirley Miller, Thelma (Chip) Fetty, and Harold Lucas (Brenda); as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and other members of extended family. Edward was kind, he loved his family, especially his grandchildren, and great grandchildren. He was retired from Florence Mining, where he worked as a coal miner. He was Mr. Fix-it, and was always willing to lend a helping hand to those who needed it. He enjoyed fishing and flea marketing as well as “tinkering” outside. A funeral mass will be held on Saturday March 16, 2019 at 10 AM at Holy Trinity Byzantine Catholic Church, 217 4th St., East Conemaugh, PA 15909. Rev. Dr. Robert F. Oravetz, officiating.
