Popovich, Edward J., 70, Johnstown, passed away January 20, 2018 at Atrium Manor.  Born December 4, 1947 in Johnstown.  Son of the late Anthony and Mary (Strihan) Popovich. Preceded in death by parents; and brother, Dennis Popovich. Survived by daughter, Dawn Popovich (Paul), Johnstown; daughter, Nikki Behr (Robert), Johnstown; son, Chad Popovich (Nichol), Johnstown; sister, Maryann Charneski (Vernon), Green Bay, WI; brother, John Popovich (Harriet), Cranberry; brother, Frank Popovich (Joan), Johnstown; sister, Margaret Plowchin (George), Johnstown; sister, Catherine Popovich, Johnstown; seven grandchildren, Brittany, Victoria, Jensen, Jylian, Alaina, Bailey, and Brice; numerous nieces and nephews; and special friend, Elaine Lenz. Ed proudly served our country in the U.S. Army. He was president of the Slovak Educational Society and past vice president of the Greater Johnstown Youth League. A funeral mass will be held 11 a.m. Friday at Resurrection Parish Church, 324 Chestnut St, Johnstown, PA 15906.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Resurrection Building Fund in Ed’s memory.
