Boothman, Edwin James Sr., 88, went to be with his Heavenly Father on April 11, 2017, at LaurelWood Care Center. Born July 14, 1928 in Spangler, PA to the late James A. and Elizabeth (Kilmer) Boothman. Preceded in death by brother, David A. Boothman; sisters, Edythe Stiles, (Floyd); Nancy Hurd, (Ted); Patricia; and two infant siblings. Survived by wife of 64 years, Dolores Ann (Lacey) Boothman; children, Jane Sherer, (Melvin); Nancy Hazel, (Don); Bonita; and Edwin J. Jr.; five grandchildren, Shawn Sherer; Mary Rose Sherer, (Jason Shilling); Kimberly Henderson, (Rev. Robert Henderson), Scott Hazel, (Jennifer); Jeffrey Bjes; and great grandchildren, Shawn Sherer Jr.; Justin and Brooke Hazel; Marissa, Corrine, and Aidin Henderson; and Jaxon and Lily Shilling. This family was definitely the joy of Ed’s life! Edwin is also survived by siblings, Leonard G. Boothman, (Hilda); James A. Boothman Jr., (Toshiko); Josephine Semelsberger, (Dan); and many nieces, nephews, and cousins; all dearly loved and close to his heart. Of course he will be missed by all. Ed was employed by Fuller Brush Co. then  Williams and Drake Co., then Bristol Myers Co. He retired in 1960, because of legal blindness he could no longer drive. Otherwise he was in good health until 2012. In 2015 Ed entered LaurelWood Care Center after he had a stroke that he could not recover from. He never walked again. Ed was a member of Mt. Calvary Lutheran Church. Funeral arrangements are not complete and will be private.
