Eichelberger, Edythe Dolores “Dee”, 88, Johnstown, passed away March 13, 2019 at Memorial Medical Center. Born October 18, 1930 in Windber, to the late Charles and Bessie (Keirn) Hill. Preceded in death by first husband, William Wilt; second husband of 40 years, Telford Eichelberger; son, Bradley Wilt; sister, Martha McCreary; brother, James Hutchison; and sister-in-law, Mary Hutchison. Survived by children, Kim Gearhart (Terry); Robin Bradish (Tom); Durinda Anderson (Robert); Brian Eichelberger (Lori); daughter-in-law, Karen Wilt; grandchildren, Lacey and Abby Gearhart; Max, Ezekiel, and Sage Wilt; Beth Kaminsky; Jackie Danowski; Leann Gartland; Joseph, Tara, and Erin Eichelberger; and five great grandchildren. Dee graduated from Windber High School class of 1948, where she was a majorette. She was a member of Garfield St. United Methodist Church, past president of Women’s Christian Fellowship, and past president of Windber Fire Co. Auxiliary. Dee was employed by Penn Traffic Co. and modeled for Penn Traffic and Glosser’s. She retired from Johnstown School District. Dee took dance lessons from Gene Kelly’s dance studio and performed in the Ferndale minstrel. She enjoyed camping, going to the beach with her girls, and attending her grandchildren’s sporting activities. “Grandma Dee Dee” always had a smile on her face and a kind word for everyone. Friends will be received Monday March 18 from 10 a.m. until time of service at 12 p.m. at Hindman Funeral Homes & Crematory, Inc., 1521 Frankstown Rd. Interment at Richland Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Garfield St. United Methodist Church.
