McMullen, Elizabeth Pauline, 85, of Hastings, peacefully went to be with the Lord on April 1, 2019, at her home. She was the daughter of the late Alvin & Edna (Baker) Thomas, she was born on March 16, 1934 in St. Boniface. She is preceded in death by her parents; grandson Jared McMullen; her brothers, Clarence, Cletus (killed in World War II), Amandus, and John; as well as her sister Hilda. She is survived by her husband Kevin, whom she was united in holy matrimony with on May 21, 1955; her children, Jeff, Robin and husband John Malloy, Shawn and wife Mary Beth, Craig and wife Ruth, & Jody and wife Nancy. Elizabeth is also survived by her sisters, Gertrude Oldham and Janet Keegan; as well as her brother Alvin Thomas. Elizabeth was blessed with, and survived by 17 grandchildren, Makayla, John, Jennifer, Jolene, Justin, Amanda, Sean, Jessica, Daniel (Father Canice), Marc, Sara, David, Stephanie, Matthew, Julie, Peter and Shane; 15 Great grandchildren, John, Lydia, Ainsley, Selene, Kalina, Kylie, Quinn, Bella, Bryr, Beau, Brax, Briggs, Alex, Emma and Eva. Elizabeth “Betty” was a loving wife for 64 years and was an inspiration to her children, encouraging music, activity and work. She loved flowers and nature, and decorating her home. She found great pleasure in horses and cherished a particular mare named Brandy. Betty enjoyed sewing and quilting, and making her home a beautiful place for all to enjoy. As a youngster, Betty was the Drum Majorette of Hastings High School and was class Secretary-Treasurer, graduating in 1952. Friends and Family will be received on Thursday April 4, 2019 from 2 PM to 4 PM and 6 PM to 8 PM at Easly-Hindman Funeral Home, 333 Beaver St. Hastings, PA 16646. Friends & family will also be received at St. Bernard Catholic Church on Friday April 5, 2019 from 10 AM until time of the funeral mass at 11 AM.
