SHOMO – Erna (Eichberger), 86, Tanneryville.  Angels came and flew her to Heaven January 6, 2015 at Conemaugh Memorial Medical Center.  Born September 10, 1928 in Krumbach, Germany.  Daughter of the late Josef and Anna (Bichler) Eichberger.  Preceded in death by brother, Hans.  She met John during WWII and in 1948 came to America as a German War Bride and was married to the love of her life for 57 years until John’s departure.  She and John had two loving daughters, Margie (Ronald Yancoskie), Gardners, PA, and Rosie (Edward Cernic Jr.), Tanneryville; also her precious granddaughters, Maggie Rose Allebach, Kelly Ann Hirsch (Brendan) and Marie Rose Harris (Reggie); and 7 great grandchildren.  Mama had an amazing strength that everyone who met her adored.  She was generous, compassionate, and had the sweetest, most loving, gentle soul.  Our family would like to thank the incredible staff at Cambria Care, 4th floor, for their love and wonderful care for Mama.  Mama loved to crochet and knit, play pinochle, sew, and be with her two furry friends “Lucy” and “Bootsie”.  We will miss her German accent and her German cooking.  Her special spirit and kind heart will live on in each of her loved ones FOREVER.  Her radiant smile, warm hugs, and beautiful eyes will be deeply missed by her family and friends.  She was an amazing, wonderful mother and best friend.  “Monkey we’re gonna miss you.”  My favorite quote for the rest of my life, “I’ll be searching for moments full of you”.  To honor mama’s wishes, there will be no viewing or visitation.  Erna was a member of St. Columbia Catholic Church.  Private service will be held at the family’s convenience.  Inurnment, Grandview Mausoleum.  Arrangements in care of Hindman Funeral Homes & Crematory Inc., 146 Chandler Ave., exclusive provider of “Veterans and Family Memorial Care.” Condolences may be made at HindmanFuneralHomes.com.
