Preceded in death by parents; husband, Irvin Hunter Sr.; daughter, Linda Shaffer and husband Jim; daughter, Jean Kramme and husband Clyde; daughter, Paula Jo; infant daughter, Dianna; son-in-law, Gene Giles; and daughter-in-law, Brenda Hunter. Also, her beloved cat, Tommy. Esther was blessed with 27 grandchildren, 36 great grandchildren and 5 great-great grandchildren. Esther retired from the Church of the Brethren Home where she worked as a nurse’s aide and then in housekeeping. A loving wife, mother and grandmother. She loved playing cards and was the “Skip-Bo Queen”. She enjoyed collecting dolls and she baked cookies until she was 90 years old and would give her baked goods away to whomever walked through her door. She especially loved her flowers! Anyone driving past her house couldn’t help but notice her beautiful tulips in the spring, then dahlias and zinnias in the summer. A special thanks to Kim and Debbie B., her caregivers. She will surely be missed. There will be no viewing. A graveside service will be held at a later date. Arrangements in care of Hindman Funeral Homes & Crematory, Inc., “Exclusive Provider of Veterans and Family Memorial Care.” Condolences may be made at HindmanFuneralHomes.com
