Riek, Eugene F., 74, Johnstown, died Aug. 30, 2017 at Memorial Medical Center. Born Jan. 24, 1943 to the late Eugene T. and Cecilia (Lison) Riek. Preceded in death by brothers, Kenneth, Donald, and Jerry Riek; sister, Elaine Christofferson; mother-in-law, Helen Pimental; brother-in-law, Steve Koukoulis; and grand-pets, Sophie, Ozzy, Rebel, and Gizzy. Survived by wife of 53 years, Jean (Koukoulis); daughters, Jenny Fox; Denise Riek-Slagle married to Billy Slagle; granddaughter, Aubre (Fox) Martin married to John Jr.; brothers, David married to Millie; Ted married to Cindy; Hank married to Carolyn; sisters-in-law, Bonnie and Kathy Riek; Peggy Riek; Suzanne Koukoulis; brother-in-law, Chris Christofferson; aunt, Margaret Lison; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. Eugene was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force and a member of St. Michael’s Catholic Church in Brownstown. He was employed by Conemaugh & Black Lick Railroad as a car repairman. Eugene enjoyed fishing and spending time with his family. He was also a great recycler of junk and a neighborhood handyman. At Eugene’s request, there will not be a viewing. A memorial service will be held Tues. Sept. 5 at 10 a.m. at St Michaels church in Brownstown.
