Rogal, Eugene M. “Gene” – 68, Hastings, passed away January 18, 2015, at West Penn Hospital, Pittsburgh. Born November 30, 1946 in Hastings; a son of Mary M. Rogal. Preceded in death by his mother. Survived by his wife of 44 years, Veronica (Kline) Rogal; children, daughter Donna Stafford, and husband Randy, Hastings; son Richard Rogal, and wife Heather, Hastings; his grandchildren MaKala and Kiersten Stafford, Kennedy, Chase, and Kinley Rogal, his brother Joseph Rogal and his wife Peg, Hastings; his brother Walter Rogal and his wife Nancy, Northern Cambria; his sister Genevieve Kibler and her husband Paul, Patton. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews, and his special pets Tiffany and Jeepers. Eugene served in the United States Navy, and worked as an Electrician for Veeder Root for 20 years before he retired, he also worked for Greenwich Collieries for 20 years, and was a school bus driver for Farabaugh’s and Tri-County for 24 years. He was a Life Member of the Hastings VFW and the Hastings Fire Club. He marched in the Drumline in every Hastings Memorial Day parade from 1971-2013. He was a member of St. Bernard Catholic Church. He enjoyed gardening, camping, and spending time with his family. He was an active member of Hastings Borough Council, and was the Chair of the Hastings Borough Water Authority. Friends will be received from 2 to 4pm and 6 to 8pm Thursday January 22, at the Easly-Hindman Funeral Home, 333 Beaver Street, Hastings and from 10am until time of funeral mass at 11am Friday January 23, at St. Bernard Catholic Church, Hastings. Father Thaddeus Rettger Officiating. Interment at St. Bernard Cemetery. Military Honors will be provided by Hastings VFW Post #1586. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Hastings Area Youth Association, PO Box 157, Hastings PA 16646.
