Eppley, Eugene T., 101, Johnstown, died December 13, 2019 at the Lutheran Home. Born March 13, 1918 to the late Clifford and Helen (Heffley) Eppley. Preceded in death by wife, Alice Eppley; and brothers, Jack and Dick Eppley. Survived by daughter, Elaine Polancy and husband James; sisters-in-law, Peg and Shirley Eppley; one nephew; and three nieces. Eugene was a member of Zion Lutheran Church and a WWII veteran of the U.S. Navy. Eugene was employed by Bethlehem Steel where he later retired from as a Gautier Electrical Foreman. He enjoyed woodcarving and spent a lot of time at the Southmont Volunteer Fire Co. where he volunteered for many years. Friends will be received Wednesday December 18 from 2 p.m. until time of service at 4 p.m. at Hindman Funeral Homes & Crematory, Inc., 146 Chandler Ave. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Southmont Volunteer Fire Co., 148 Wonder St, Johnstown, PA 15905.
