Miller (Wasilko), Evelyn, 83, Hastings, passed away on Thursday, March 14, 2019, at Allegheny Lutheran Home – Hollidaysburg. She was born July 30, 1935 in Susquehanna Twp., a daughter of the late Harry and Fannie (Dzendzia) Wasilko. Evelyn is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Eugene “Pooch” Miller; her siblings, Charles Wasilko, Anna Mehall, John Wasilko, Helen Geneva, Paul Wasilko, George Wasilko, Mary Jaris, Mike Wasilko, Jay Wasilko, and Magdeline Paronish.  Evelyn is survived by her children, Eugene E. Miller, Reading; Steve Miller (Mary Ann), Revloc; Diane Skrodinsky (Mike), Key West, FL; Linda Cavallo (Barry), Hastings; Alice Stiffler (Chris), Baltimore; her grandchildren, Steven Miller, Kristy Garcia (Julio), Josh Stiffler (Allie), Brandon Skrodinsky (Shannon), Kayla Cavallo, Chelsey Stiffler (Shane),  and Marissa Cavallo (Cody); 4 great grandchildren: her siblings, Kathryn “Kay” Sewalish (Paul), Nancy Baron, and sister-in-law, Elizabeth (Betsy) Wasilko; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Evelyn worked at both the Barnesboro and Patton shirt factories. Evelyn was a life member of the Hastings Fire Company Ladies Auxiliary.  She enjoyed spending time with her family, playing Bingo, doing jigsaw puzzles, listening to Sunday Morning Polka’s, and baking, especially “homemade pizza night” every Friday. She enjoyed her time at St. Benedict Manor where she made many new friends. The family would like to extend their appreciation to the staff at Allegheny Lutheran Home. A funeral mass will be held at 1 PM on Monday March 18, 2019 at St. Bernard Catholic Church.  Father Thaddeus Rettger OSB, officiating, Interment will be at St. Bernard Cemetery. Those who wish, may make donations in memory of Evelyn to the Hastings Fire Company, or to the Hastings Pool.
