Obituary

Bakos, Francis R. Jr. “Bob”, 74, Johnstown, passed away peacefully on September 3, 2023, surrounded by his family. Born April 25, 1949, to the late Francis “Franny” and Florence (Bacha) Bakos. Survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Dorothy (Rosage) Bakos; children, Robert Bakos and wife Stephanie (Churchman); Michael Bakos and wife Lindy (Novatny); Lisa Baldauf and husband Jesse; David Bakos and wife Jenny (Bailey); grandchildren, Jacob and Emma Bakos; Kaitlyn, Kash, Kooper, and Karson Baldauf; sisters, Sharon Salvia and husband Tom; Kimberly Cross and late husband Richard; and numerous nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends. Bob was a proud U.S. Navy veteran, having served in Vietnam on the USS John R. Craig (DD 885). He was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed hunting, fishing, and shooting. Bob enjoyed watching hockey, especially the Pittsburgh Penguins. Bob knew someone everywhere he went and loved sharing stories with family and friends. Family will receive friends Thursday September 14th from 6-8 p.m. at Hindman Funeral Homes & Crematory, Inc., 146 Chandler Ave. A Memorial Mass will be held Friday at 10 a.m. at St. Francis of Assisi Church. Conventual Franciscan Friars, officiating. Interment and military honors to follow at Grandview Cemetery.
