Kozar, Frank J., 92, Salix, died Nov. 26, 2016 at his home. Born Dec. 10, 1923 to the late Frank M. and Barbara (Beda) Kozar. Preceded in death by siblings, Paul, Evan, and Steve Kozar; Mary Dipko; Barbara Workosky; and Andrew Kozar. Survived by loving wife, Martha S. (Simpson) Kozar; sons, Mark Kozar and wife Missy (Cuddy); Kevin Kozar; Bruce Kozar; and granddaughter, Erin Kozar. Frank was a veteran of the U.S. Army and received several medals after serving in WWII. He was a school teacher for Adams Summerhill and then Forest Hills School District. Frank enjoyed sports and was the Adams Summerhill track, football, and basketball coach for many years. He was then the athletic director for 12 years at Forest Hills before serving as state treasurer of the PA Athletic Director Association. Frank volunteered for 25 years at the Johnstown Flood Memorial as an interpreter and 24 years at the Forest Hills Food Pantry. At the family’s request, there will be no viewing. A memorial service will be held at a later date.
