Obituary

Cekada, Frank “Sonny” “Zeke”, 86, Parkhill, passed away October 2, 2018 at Memorial Medical Center. Born January 30, 1932 to the late Frank and Martha (Rodkey) Cekada. Preceded in death by siblings, James, Robert, John, Bill, and Charlotte. Frank was the last surviving member of his immediate family. Survived by wife, Betty (Yackulich) Cekada; children, Diane (Lenio) Walsh and husband Bill; Daniel and Donald Cekada; grandchildren, Sara Faulisi and husband Marco; Tyler and Bethany Lenio; Elisa Charles and husband Adam; Annie Cekada; four great grandchildren; and former son-in-law, Tom Lenio. Frank was a veteran of the U.S. Army (Korean War) and a lifetime member of the Franklin VFW Post 5107. He was also a member of the Parkhill American Legion, Conemaugh Fire Club, and Conemaugh Eagles. Frank was employed at Bethlehem Steel for over 30 years. A memorial mass will be held at 11 a.m. Friday October 5 at The Church of the Transfiguration. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a charity of your choice.
