Obituary

Wood Jr., Fred Ellsworth, 89, Lititz, formerly of Johnstown, passed away Oct. 3, 2016 at the Masonic Village, Elizabethtown. Born Feb. 4, 1927, Johnstown, son of the late Fred E. and Jessie I. (Rainey) Wood, Sr. Preceded in death by his loving wife, Louella (Cooper); and sister, Hazel Hoover. Survived by his children, Fred Wood III and wife, Ruthanne; Gail Swain and husband, Thomas; Donald Wood and wife, Kathryn; 6 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren. Fred retired as an Operations Superintendent for Penelec – First Energy Corp., was a lifelong Mason, and a member of both the New Florence Lions Club and American Legion. He served our country in the US Army. Friends will be received Oct. 6 from 6 – 8 p.m. at Hindman Funeral Homes & Crematory, Inc., 146 Chandler Ave. where funeral services will be held Oct. 7 at 10 a.m., Pastor Robert Rummel, officiating.
