Plowchin, George R., 75, Johnstown, passed away January 29, 2018. Born December 29, 1942 in Johnstown, to the late George and Mary (Sakmar) Plowchin. Preceded in death by loving parents; and daughter, Kelly Ann Plowchin. Survived by devoted wife, Margaret “Marge” (Popovich); son, Mark; grandson, Jesse; sister, Rose, Centreville Virginia; brother, Jim Plowchin married to Carole (Manculich); nieces, Shelly Roman married to Eric; Jill Tonti married to Mike; Scott Plowchin; great nieces, Emilee and Madee Roman; and numerous nieces and nephews. George graduated from Westmont High School. George proudly served our country in the U.S. Air Force and was employed by U.S. Steel and Johnstown Corporation. George enjoyed hunting, fishing, auto-races, and assembling puzzles. He also enjoyed watching Steeler and Penn State football games. George looked forward to eating his favorite fish sandwich every Friday from The Pyramids. He was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather who loved their vacations to the beach. A funeral mass will be held Saturday February 3 at 11 a.m. at Resurrection Parish Church, 324 Chestnut St, Johnstown, PA 15906, Rev. George M. Gulash officiating. Interment at Grandview Cemetery.
