Obituary

Burkett, Gertrude M. (Lutz), 94, formally of Portage, died Sept. 30, 2016 surrounded by her family at UPMC Altoona. Born May 20, 1922 to the late Cyril and Leona (George) Lutz. Preceded in death by husband, Alton Eugene Burkett and son, Alton E. “Skippy” Burkett Jr. Survived by son, Barry W. Burkett Sr. and wife Victoria (Plewa), Lilly PA; grandson, Barry W. Burkett Jr. and wife Andrea (Holland), VA, and their children, Shane, Cory, Cami, and Bryar-John Burkett; granddaughter, Kimberly (Burkett) Golden and husband Andrew, Lilly PA, and their children, Hunter and Bryelle Golden. Gertrude enjoyed taking bus trips and traveling with friends and family. She was known for her sarcasm and wittiness. At Gertrude’s request there will be no viewing or service.
