Faranda, Guy A., 72, Johnstown, died Nov. 10, 2016 at Memorial Medical Center. Born Oct. 31, 1944 to Guy S. “Tony” and Margaret “Baba” (Smolen) Faranda. Preceded in death by father. Survived by mother; sister, Mary Theresa Ober and husband Frank; brother, Philip Faranda and wife Mary; niece, Tina Ober, (Paul); nephews, Jason Ober; Vincent and Christian Faranda; great nieces; Haylea and Kyra Ober; and Very Dear and Special Friends, Jack and Trudy Boast; Rob Miller; and Carol Smith. Guy was a member of the Jackson Twp. Sportsman Club and a life member of the YMCA. He was also the owner of the Iron Kettle. Friends will be received Sunday Nov. 13 from 3-6 p.m. and again Monday from 12 p.m. until time of service at 1 p.m. at Hindman Funeral Homes & Crematory, Inc., 146 Chandler Ave. Father Francis Balestino, officiating. Burial at Benshoff Hill Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Jackson Twp. Sportsman Club, C/O gun safety education, 227 Pike Rd. Johnstown PA 15909.
