Swick, Gwendolyn Hope, 88, Johnstown, passed away June 7, 2017 at Arbutus Park Manor. Born June 27, 1928 to the late Warren and Mary (Smith) Oyler. Preceded in death by husband of 54 years, George D. Swick; mother in law and friend, Rebecca Swick; son, Daniel Swick; and brother David Oyler. Survived by children, Suzanne Strozak and Ronald McCusker; Elaine Bermosk and husband Geoffrey; Glenn Swick and Michele Mason; Mary Swick and Michael Buckley; Michael Swick and wife Wendy; grandchildren, Rebecca and Kendra Bermosk; Kara Hammons; David Bermosk; Kendall and Bryia Swick; and great grandchildren, Logan Bermosk; Haylee, Alexis, and Brodie Hammons. Gwen loved her nieces and nephews and her door was always open, especially for the neighborhood kids. Gwendolyn was a lifelong member of Pleasant Hill Church of the Brethren, where she lovingly served for many years. She was a Sunday school teacher, avid quilter, and a member of the Middle Taylor Twp. Ladies Auxiliary. Friends will be received Fri. June 9 from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. at Hindman Funeral Homes & Crematory, Inc., 1521 Frankstown Rd. A funeral service will be held Sat. at 11 a.m., at Pleasant Hill Church of the Brethren, Pastor Rob Wolf officiating.
