Thompson, Gwendolyn J., 69, Johnstown, died April 9, 2015 at Conemaugh Memorial Medical Center. Born March 30, 1946 to the late Robert R. and Edna L. (Svoboda) Hagerich-Briggs. Preceded in death by husband, Edward Thompson. Survived by brother, Scott Hagerich (Diane); step-father, Weldon Briggs; nieces, Holly Hall; Shannon Riden; and companion Richard Kniss. Gwendolyn was a member of the First United Methodist Church, an American Medical Technologist, and a life member of the VFW ladies auxiliary. She was also a member of the Harmony Singing Society, Windber Moose, Dale Fireman’s Club, and the Sons of Italy (Franklin Street). Gwendolyn also enjoyed bowling in Richland on Thursday nights. At Gwen’s request, there will be no viewing. A memorial service will be held at the First United Methodist Church, 436 Vine St., Mon. April 13 at 11 a.m., Rev. Edwin Harold officiating. Inurnment, Grandview Mausoleum. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the First United Methodist Church or Windber Hospice.
