Obituary

Mehalko, Hallie A., 79, Johnstown, passed away April 9, 2021 at Richland Woods. Born August 1, 1941 she is the daughter of the late James and Dorothy (Lydic) Dimond. Hallie is preceded in death by her son Bernard (Bernie) W. Marano, brother-in-law Ronald Koenig.; Hallie is survived by her husband of 34 years William P. Mehalko. She is also survived by her son Adam (wife Stacy) Marano Dadeville AL, Darin (wife Regina) Marano West Warwick RI; daughter-in-law Nancy Marano; Sisters, Barbara Koenig of Export, Pamela(husband Dave) Bosic of Sidman; Brother, James (wife Pamela)Dimond of Bethel Park; grandchildren, Michael, Roman (wife Katelyn), Alden, Kallie, step daughters Sandy Mehalko(husband Mark Prave) and Lori Sossong; step grandchildren Kevin, Kasey, Brett; great grandchildren Ava, Lily, Layla, Olivia, Tyson. Hallie was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. She enjoyed cooking for family and volunteer cooking for many local organizations such as the Knights of Columbus and St. Mary’s church. Hallie and Bill adopted many puppies with an affinity for Yorkshire Terriers with Ruby and Coco still surviving. She was a graduate of Franklin High School class of 1959, a member of St. Mary’s church in Nanty Glo and retired from AmeriServ Bank. Friends will be received at Hindman Funeral Home & Crematory Inc. 1521 Frankstown road 10 to 11am with a service at 11am April 17, 2021 the burial will be private. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Windber Hospice and Humane Society of Cambria County.
