Obituary

Smith, Harry D., 83, Johnstown, passed away at Memorial Medical Center on December 29, 2017. Born in Johnstown on November 9, 1934. Son of the late David and Mary (Maloy) Smith. Preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Larry Smith; and his sister-in-law Patricia Seitz. Survived by his wife of 60 years Mary Lou (Seitz); his children, daughter, Marcia Werner and her husband, Lester, Spring Grove, PA; daughter, Lisa Smith, Johnstown; son, David Smith, Johnstown; his grandson, Codie Eash and his wife Mary, Dover, PA; his sister-in-law Sharene Gray and her husband Charles; brother-in-law James Seitz, brother-in-law Jerry Seitz and his wife Sandy; as well as numerous nieces and nephews; and his longtime friend Phil Boltz.  Harry retired from Penelec, where he was employed for 34 years. Harry loved his family and friends. Harry enjoyed watching TV, college football, Pittsburgh Penguins hockey, and wrestling. He wrestled and played hockey in his youth. He also enjoyed visiting historical sites. A memorial service will be held at St. Andrews Church, 1621 Ferndale Avenue, Johnstown, PA 15905 at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, January 6, 2018.
