McAfee, Helen M., passed away April 8, 2023. She was born December 16, 1932 in Folcroft, PA, daughter of James and Helen McAleer. Preceded in death by her beloved husband of 61 years, Donald M. McAfee; brother, 1st Lt James T. McAleer US Army; and sister, Margaret V. Petty of Swarthmore, PA. She is survived by sons, Donald J. (Alice) of San Tan Valley, AZ, Jeffrey (Mary) of Elwood City, PA, Brian of Johnstown, PA, and Patrick (Cathy) of North Carolina; daughter, Kathleen (Ron) Snyder of Davidsville, PA; 12 grandchildren; and 13 great grandchildren. Helen was a 3-time cancer survivor who became an avid volunteer and participated in Reach to Recovery, Relay for Life, Daffodil Days, and other related events. She enjoyed playing Pinochle with friends and loved to read. Helen was a member of St. Benedict Church. A memorial service will be held Friday at 1 p.m., Hindman Funeral Homes & Crematory Inc., 1521 Frankstown Rd., Johnstown, PA 15902, officiated by St. Benedict. Interment will be private and at the convenience of the family. She will be buried beside her husband in the Richland Cemetery Soldiers Circle.
