Miller Holly Obit Pic

Miller, Holly Ann, 65, of New Florence, passed away in the early hours of November 9, 2023, comforted by Suzanne, her love of 36 years. Born January 10, 1958, daughter of the late Clark and Delores (Tolley) Miller. She leaves behind Suzanne; AJ; siblings Becky, Margo, and Rodger; cherished nieces and nephews; new rescue, Luna; and a host of lifelong friends. The brilliant light of Holly Miller joined the heavenly beauty that shines down and through us all. Holly was a mighty warrior who fought the long battle against Metastatic Ovarian Cancer. Holly loved flannel shirts and blue jeans, music, fur babies, outdoor fires, pizza, and a cold beer. She hated fish, getting lost, and unkindness. She was true to herself every day she walked this earth. She was quick witted, with a sarcastic sense of humor that made you laugh and a ferocious love and loyalty for those lucky enough to know her. Her heart of gold was enveloped in a tough exterior, and her hugs felt like a warm, heavy blanket on a cold day. Holly was an extraordinary athlete in her younger years, and her later years were filled with working with her therapy dog Ruby at Windber Hospice, Special Olympics, Defense and Veterans Brain Injury Center of Johnstown, and Ebensburg’s Healing Patch, kayaking, hiking, and game night with family and friends. Somewhere in the middle she worked (family-owned trucking business, Bantly Hardware, US Steel, Penelec, SKF, Gap Vac, Lennox, Dominion Energy, UPJ and Starbucks) and overachieved in educational attainment (Associate Science, Bachelor of Management, Master of Arts in Personnel Administration and Industrial Labor Relations from Saint Francis College). Following her wishes there will be no services but a celebration of life will be planned for family and friends for spring/early summer 2024. At Holly’s request and in her honor, please follow your heart and donate to a charity that resonates with you or give a forever home to a shelter dog. And don’t cry. Okay. Maybe a little. Today, Holly is free and happy. Arrangements in care of Hindman Funeral Homes & Crematory Inc., “Exclusive Provider of Veterans and Family Memorial Care.” Condolences may be made at HindmanFuneralHomes.com
