Obituary

Verdenburgh, Ida, 84, Johnstown, passed away July 9, 2023. Born December 2, 1938, to the late Thomas and Thelma Nugent. Preceded in death by husband, Walter Verdenburgh Sr.; son, Robert Verdenburgh; and siblings, Thelma Stephenson; and Donald, Tom, and William Nugent. Survived by children, Walter H. Verdenburgh Jr.; Glen Verdenburgh and wife Cherie; Brenda Miller and husband Anthony; grandchildren, Georganna Johnson and husband Jarrod; Cassandra Miller; Anthony J. Miller Jr.; Autum Verdenburgh and boyfriend Steven; and great grandchildren, Ny’riah and Naomi Johnson. Ida was a dedicated housewife and volunteered at Johnstown Senior Center. She loved music and dancing. A special thank you to Maple Heights (formerly Cambria Care Center) and Grane Hospice for the compassionate care they provided to Ida. Family will receive friends Thursday July 13th from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. at Hindman Funeral Homes & Crematory, Inc., 146 Chandler Ave., where a service will be held Friday at 11 a.m. Pastor Nancy Hoover, officiating. Interment to follow at Forest Lawn. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the family.
