Shearer, Jack W., 82, Oakland, passed away December 25, 2019 at home. Born July 5, 1937, son of John M. and Emily (Pheasant) Shearer. Preceded in death by parents; son, Eddie W.; brother-in-law, James Hetzlein; sister-in-law, Kathleen Geiser; and parents of his wife, Louis and Catherine Midderhoff. Survived by loving wife of 62 years, Barbara A. (Midderhoff) Shearer; sons, John W. (Joanne) and Ronald W. (Renae); sister, Norma Hetzline; brother, E-Jay Shearer (Judy); 2 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; and special grandson, Adam Landis, who helped take care of Jack through his long battle of Parkinson’s disease. Jack attended St. Benedict Church and was a 4th Degree Knight with the Knights of Columbus. He was a former board member of the Cambria County Transit Authority for many years and was a member of Oakland Firehall. A special thanks to Windber Hospice for their wonderful and loving care.
