Stiffler, James E., 69, Johnstown, died March 31, 2016 at his home surrounded by family. Born Aug. 14, 1946 in Colver PA, to the late Earl and Jacqueline (Porta) Stiffler. Preceded in death by loving wife of 44 years, Rebecca Rose Stiffler; granddaughter, Abigail; and sister-in-law, Nedra (Taylor) Stiffler. Survived by sons, James Jr. and wife Jennifer (Freidhoff); Rodney; Gregory and wife Christina (Parisi); Douglas and wife Carey (Carmel); Thomas and wife Angela (Pingatore); brother, George Edward and wife Barbara (Sankovich); grandchildren, Elizabeth, Kaitlyn, Jaden, Hailey, Madalynn, Maria, Makenzie, Joshua, Julia, Nathan, Allison, Tommy, Maggie, Henry; aunts, uncle, cousins; and numerous nieces and nephews. James was a veteran of the U.S. Army. After 30 years of service, he retired from Reliant Energy, mobile maintenance. James was an avid fisherman and hunter and enjoyed playing poker with family and buddies whenever he could. He was involved with the Cub Scouts and coached little league in the East Suburban and East Conemaugh leagues for 19 years. James was also a big supporter of Conemaugh Valley Athletics. Friends will be received Mon. April 4 from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. at Hindman Funeral Homes & Crematory, Inc., 1521 Frankstown Rd. Mass will be held Tues. 10 a.m. at St. Gregory Church, Rev. Robert L. Ruston, officiating. Committal and military rites at Forest Lawn Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Conemaugh Valley Youth League, 200 Buriak Rd, Johnstown, PA 15909 or Forest Hills Girls Softball League, P.O. Box 57, St. Michael, PA 15951.
