Heinlein, James F. “Doc” “Heiny”, 82, Johnstown, passed away January 22, 2019 at Conemaugh Memorial Medical Center. Born December 26, 1936. Son of George and Agnes (Cosgrove) Heinlein. Preceded in death by parents; and brother, Joe. Survived by loving wife, Betty “Toots” (Kobal) Heinlein; son, Kevin Heinlien (Kristine), Johnstown; son, Shawn Heinlein (Erin), Abbington, MD; sister, Marie Slanac, Johnstown; grandchildren, Jordan, Sydney, Logan, Shawn Jr., and Hudson; and numerous nieces and nephews. James Proudly served our country in the U.S Army and worked as a Steel Worker for Bethlehem Steel. He was also a member of the Franklin White Eagles and a lifetime member of the Franklin Fire Dept. Family and friends will be received from 2 to 6pm on Sunday at Hindman Funeral Homes & Crematory Inc., 1521 Frankstown Rd., Johnstown. A funeral service will be held Monday at 11am at the Church of the Transfiguration, 219 Oak St., Conemaugh, Rev. Robert Hall officiating. Burial to follow at Assumption Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Franklin Fire Dept., 1125 Main St, Johnstown, PA 15909.
