Kirkstadt, James M., 77, Westmont, went home to be with the Lord Oct. 1, 2015 at home. Born Nov. 10, 1937, to the late Harold J. and Nina M. (Meyer) Kirkstadt. Survived by his loving wife of 50 years, Patricia E. (McCormick); children, Kevin J. Kirkstadt married to Tracy L., Westmont, parents of Amanda M. Kirkstadt, Nicholas J. Kirkstadt, and Emily E. Stonecypher married to Aaron D.; Jill M. Kirkstadt partner Michael A. Cremona, Malta, Europe; Jean B. Pawcio married to David J., Upper Yoder, parents of Kaitlyn E. Pawcio, Jocelyn J. Pawcio, and Karalyn A. Pawcio; sister, Carol V. Kirkstadt, Loveland, Colorado; and faithful dog, Ms. Taxi. James retired from Bethlehem Steel as a structural engineer, retired Colonel of the US Air Force, member of Westmont Presbyterian Church where he was also an elder, Westminster Presbyterian Church Adult Fellowship Fireside Club, VFW, Silver Falcons, Reserve Officer Association receiving the Minute Man Award, Air Force Association where he was in charge of the fundraising/engineering plans for the official memorial of the “Buzz” Wagner P40 Plane Project, the Association of Graduates US Air Force Academy, Veterans Day Parade Committee, Treemont Shooting Club, Lederhosen Ski Club, Flood Museum Volunteer, Sigma Alpha Epsilon, avid duplicate bridge player, and an Investment Broker for Fund Investors, Ebensburg. Friends will be received Oct. 7 from 5-8 p.m. at Hindman Funeral Homes & Crematory, Inc., 1521 Frankstown Rd. Funeral Services will be held Oct. 8 at 11 a.m. at Westmont Presbyterian Church, 601 Luzerne St., Rev. Craig Miller, officiating. Military honors conducted by Menoher VFW Post 155. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Air Force Association Lt. Col. DB “Buzz” Warner Chapter 221 or Westmont Presbyterian Church.
