Obituary

Hess, James “Jim”, 90, Johnstown, loving father and most kind-hearted man, passed away July 16, 2017 at Crichton Rehabilitation Center. Born July 7, 1927 in Bloom Twp. to the late Homer and Vesta (Blue) Hess. Preceded in death by wife Fay (Norcott) Hess; brother, Fred, married to Irma (Cooper), who is also deceased; and sister-in-law, Judith Hess (married to Cecil). Survived by sons, Robert married to Patricia (Cordiner); Mark Hess; sisters, Joetta married to Ralph Rager; Marylin; Carol married to Glenn Imler; Marge married to Norman Starr; and brothers, Cecil; and Don, married to Pauline (Hymer). James was a career veteran of the U.S. Air Force (Chief Master Sergeant). He was an avid newspaper reader and a radio electronics buff. Friends will be received Fri. July 21 from 6-8 p.m. at Hindman Funeral Homes & Crematory, Inc., 1521 Frankstown Rd. A funeral service will be held Sat. at 10 a.m. at Pleasant Hill Church of the Brethren, Pastor Rob Wolf, officiating. All are welcome.
